Discovered Skanect. Another windows-only program. Boo-hiss. Downloaded it from and watched the quick youtube intro

I perched my Xtion scanner on top of my Mac, put the keyboard and mouse on a chair beside me and hit scan. I turned slowly in my swivel chair 360 degrees. It worked the first time! Finished the post processing and got a decent .stl file out of it. The first time! Looked at it in Blender. Blender liked it. I have a solution! Yipie.

This is the free version I have. I wouldn’t mind shelling out the 99 euros, that’s about $130 if it were tangibly better. It says the free version it leaves circles in the .stl, I’ll have to determine if that would be a noticeable problem.
